Our Journey
2018
The Beginning
Bymnē's first products: three candles and five reed diffusers. Named in French — Jour de Congé, Bonne Mémoire, Amore — and in English — Gratitude, Insight, Clarity. Simple, sincere, and full of possibility. We were young, curious, and still learning what language felt like ours.
Jasmine. Lavender. Pine. Bergamot. Musk. Vanilla.
We were just beginning.
2019
Searching
More scents. Bolder names. Supernatural, Divine, Sacred, Relish, Ammaliare, Bhakti. Opium, ylang-ylang, frankincense, ocean, sandalwood, green tea. We were reaching — for mystery, for depth, for something that felt meaningful. We hadn't yet found the specific world that was already ours.
But we were learning what we were drawn to.
2020
The Exploration
Two candles for the moon — Full Moon in sandalwood, New Moon in cedarwood. And then, quietly, without announcement: we started making incense.
This was the moment everything changed. The Mystic Collection followed — new in spirit, sincere in intention. We were still searching, but the hands were beginning to find their work.

The First Heritage Collection
Mahendradatta. Named after the Javanese princess who brought Hindu culture to Bali in the 10th century. This was Bymnē's first step toward its true identity — Javanese and Balinese ancestral heritage as the foundation of everything.
Banaspati Raja was also born this year — still in redevelopment. Some things take longer to become what they need to be.
Fleur de Prospérité and L'Abondance appeared too — remnants of the French-named era, coexisting with the new direction. We were still in transition.

Two Directions at Once
Tantra — the first Goddess Collection. Vanilla and musk, an homage to the divine feminine. Beautiful and sincere, but rooted in a new age world that wasn't fully Bymnē's own. It couldn't continue.
AUM Prajnaparamita — the brass holder & scent, designed by W+M Design Studio. Named after the perfection of wisdom, believed to resemble Queen Gayatri Rajapatni of Majapahit. This one was different. This one was heritage.
2023
Honest Departures
Aphrodite — a Greek goddess. Beautiful name, wrong world. We knew it even as we made it.
Mojito — bright, fresh, beloved. But the name never fit. It became Seruni — named after the serai jeruk nipis herbal drink of Javanese tradition, and after the plant in our founder's family garden. The scent stayed. The name finally told the truth.
Sri Maha — heritage, still in redevelopment. The right things take time.
2024
The Goddesses, Unfinished
Three scents in development. All put on hold.
Tara — the protectress, guide through transformation and change.
Uma — Parvati, guardian of women through the passage of childbirth.
Kali — the sacred transition, the new cycle, the radical arrival of wisdom.
They are not gone. They are waiting to be done with the depth they deserve.
2025
Silence
No new products.
We assessed. We looked at everything we had made and asked what was true, what was ours, and what needed to be let go. This was not a quiet year. It was the most important year.
2026
Home
Heritage Gardens. A return to what was always there — the ancestral knowledge of Java and Bali, the herbs and botanicals of the Indonesian earth, the nini whose hands carry centuries of wisdom.
Transitioning to all natural formulations. Developing our own botanical absolutes from Indonesian flowers. Naming our scents in Sanskrit and Kawi — not for aesthetics, but because these are the languages this knowledge has always spoken.
Bymnē is not a new brand. It is a brand that finally knows what it has always been.
